As you know, we are entering an important season in the life of our church as we begin the search for our next Associate Pastor. We believe this is a significant opportunity to discern God’s leading for the future of Marine View, and we are seeking a team of spiritually mature covenant partners who will commit themselves to this process with prayer, wisdom, and unity.
The APNC will consist of 7-9 team members who will be presented by the Church Nominating Committee to the congregation for election. This team will work together to prayerfully identify, evaluate, and recommend the person God is calling to serve in this vital pastoral role. We anticipate the search process will take approximately 9–12 months, during which the committee will meet regularly, develop a position description and search strategy, review candidates, conduct interviews, and seek the Lord’s guidance every step of the way. At the end of the process, the committee will present their chosen pastoral candidate to the congregation for consideration.
Serving on the committee will require a meaningful investment of time, but it is also a unique opportunity to contribute to the future ministry of our church and help shape the next chapter of Marine View’s mission to go deeper with Jesus and to reach wider with his love.
Please take some time to seek the Lord’s guidance as you prayerfully consider submitting your name or someone else’s name to the Church Nominating Committee for consideration to serve on the APNC. When you’re ready, please complete and submit this form, which will be forwarded to the church office and Church Nominating Committee. The deadline for APNC interest forms to be submitted is Monday, August 31. Elections to the APNC will take place at a special called congregational meeting on Sunday, September 20.
As a reminder, APNC members must be Covenant Partners (members) of Marine View Presbyterian Church. If you have any questions about the committee, the expectations, or the search process, Pastor Jesse would be happy to talk with you. Email office@marineviewpc.org to setup a time for conversation.
